Why Does My Stomach Hurt??

I have a confession. I threw another temper tantrum this morning.

It was much smaller than yesterday's, but another pair of pants didn't fit.

So I cried.

I wish I knew what was going on with my body. I feel like I am trapped in someone else's body. My stomach hurts, almost all the time. My digestive track is all messed up. I can't help but wonder - is that part of what is making me gain weight?

Here's the deal - we have long suspected I have a disease called Ehlers-Danlos. My sister has it, and I have always had several of the symptoms. Well, those symptoms just keep getting worse.

I have a doctor appointment on Wednesday, to hopefully get to the bottom of this. I'm wondering if I need to modify my diet. Maybe gluten-free? Lactose-free? All organic?

I know this post isn't sports related, but it's something I'm going through and wanted to share. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, please let me know!

Temper Tantrums

Hello.

My name is Callie.

I am 26 years old, married, and I still throw temper tantrums.

Sigh.

Will I ever outgrow this?

I had a royal temper tantrum morning. I wanted to wear something cute to church. Nothing seemed to fit right. So as my poor husband lay in bed, trying to watch his favorite show of the week ("Sports Reporters" on ESPN), I proceeded to practically empty my closet onto our bedroom floor.

I would try something on. It wouldn't fit right. I would tear it off, and slam it to the ground. Then I would proceed to stomp into the closet to find another piece of clothing to be my next victim.

Then, when convinced absolutely nothing would fit right, I laid in bed beside my husband. I whimpered. Then I cried. Then I bawled. I apologized for being fat and ugly, for being a bad wife, and I even think I said, "I suck."

Oh man, it's hard being married to me. My sweet husband? He just stroked my back and told me he loves me. And told me I'm beautiful. And I'm not fat. And I'm not ugly. And I'm a good wife. And I don't suck.

Haha. It cracks me up now, but of course, at the time, I was so upset I couldn't see straight.

Thank You, Lord, for giving me such a patient husband.

Does anyone else out there still throw temper tantrums?

Let's Go NOLES!!!

Here's the update on the FSU game - we are kicking some BYU you-know-what!

Our team looks great, with the exception of our pass defense. They are throwing the ball wherever they please! But our run game is doing great, and hopefully we can keep it up in the second half.

On a different note, the game is on "VS" or "Versus" tonight. And the guys calling the game are good. Really good. Sounds like they have really done their homework. If you get a chance to watch one of their games, check it out. I am impressed.

Halftime is almost over...let's go NOLES!!!

My Husband's Favorite Wedding Gift

If you haven't been following my wedding blog (http://august15bride.blogspot.com/) you may not know about my husband's favorite wedding gift.

I'll give you a hint - it wasn't our Lenox Federal Platinum China.

It was...our brand new Samsung 50" Plasma 1080p HDTV.

It is beautiful. Honestly.

And today it is featuring some beautiful college football.

Right now, we are enjoying watching some UT v. UF football. We are diehard FSU fans, so we are pulling for UT in this one. If you're not addicted to ESPN (like my husband is, so me vicariously) you may have missed all the trash talking going on before this game.

See, Lane Kiffin is the brand new coach for the Tennessee Volunteers. (His dad, Monte Kiffin is now his defensive coordinator - he used to be the mastermind over at the Tampa Bay Bucs). Anywhoo, he (Lane) made a bold statement when he was named coach. He mentioned how he couldn't wait to sing their school's fight song "all night long after we beat the Florida Gators."

Hmm. Think that might have provided some motivation for the Gators? As if they needed any.

Right now it's tied up, 3-3, at the end of the first quarter.

On another note, WHAT are the Oregon Ducks wearing? Hideous uniforms today. Grey pants, green shirts (with yellow numbers) and white helmets. Yuck, Ducks.

What games are you watching today?

(Stay tuned - more to come about our team's matchup tonight with BYU!)

I'm Back!

So, I have seriously neglected this blog.

My bad.

I'm back. I'm married. And yes, I am a newlywed sports widow.

For instance...tonight is my husband's 27th birthday. And I'm at home, alone, drinking a glass of wine.

Where is he? On the sidelines, covering a high school football game.

Such is the life. :)

Stay tuned...there will be much sports talk/newlywed talk to come!

Dinnertime Conversation Topic - Michael Vick

One of my goals of this blog is to provide fellow Sports Widows a topic every day or so for dinnertime conversation. Who really has time to follow ESPN or SI all day to find out the latest news in sports? So here you go, the first installation of the Dinnertime Conversation Topic.

Michael Vick. Say his name and people seem to have an instant reaction. (In case you don't remember, he was the Atlanta Falcons quarterback who was arrested for dog fighting). He recently got out of jail and is trying to get back into football.

The first question is - should he be allowed to get his job back after such an atrocious crime? (The Commissioner has given him an "indefinite suspension").

Second question - if he is allowed back into football, which team will sign him and when? (Today, Tony Dungy - a well-respected former coach and mentor to Michael Vick - said he thinks Michael Vick will be signed by the end of the week).

What does your Sports Addict think? :)

I Hate West Coast Games

It is 11:33pm and my beloved Tampa Bay Rays are playing the LA Angels. And it's only the bottom of the 4th.

Why can't the world be on one time zone? (Doesn't Greeny of Mike & Mike have a theory on this one?)
